Mortgage Rates Lowest In 50 Years

Freddie Mac released results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey, showing mortgage rates, fixed and adjustable, reaching all-time record lows. The 30-year fixed averaged 4.15 percent, breaking the previous record low of 4.17 percent set November 11, 2010.
News Facts:
30-year fixed-rate mortage (FRM) averaged 4.15 percent with an average 0.7 point for the week ending August 18, 2011, down from last week when it averaged 4.32 percent. Last year at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 4.42 percent.
15-year FRM this week averaged 3.36 percent with an average 0.6 point, down from last week when it averaged 3.50 percent. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 3.90 percent.
